JLPT words

Zkanji development hasn’t stopped. I’m currently processing N5-1 level lists (from the site http://www.tanos.co.uk/), so I can include information about them in the next release, and also to be able to automatically select what to study for the long-term study list. The work is slow, because as I thought, human made lists are not really consistent, so automatic processing is not possible. In Japanese there are many words, that can be written in at least 2 ways with different kanji. Also many words, even though there is a kanji in them, are written solely with hiragana or katakana usually, and it looks strange if kanji is used.

So far in the N5 list I have seen words that were written with the wrong kanji or rare kanji, and others that were correct though, but it’s highly unlikely that their kanji will be in an N5 test. In some words the meaning didn’t match or not all general meanings were included. Because of such mistakes, even if I could process the words automatically, I have to check them separately. This will take some time.

Thanks. I’ll be doing this as fast as I can, because it’s a pretty boring and I want to get over it.
